As much time in the water with the Mobulas as the ocean allows.
The heart of the expedition is the Mobula migration around La Ventana: six dedicated expedition days on the Sea of Cortez, with the boat reserved for eight days so we can chase the best weather windows. We leave at sunrise and return early afternoon — maximum time with the aggregations.
When the Mobulas are found and time remains, days finish with freediving; if the animals can't be located, we use the time for extra freedive training. This window has a very high chance of encounters — but wildlife and weather are never a guarantee.
The Program
- Boat Days 6 Mobula expedition days Boat reserved for 8 days to use the best weather windows. Sunrise departures, return around 12:00–14:00, an experienced local captain and crew, Emily guiding the group in the water.
- Freediving Course & coaching throughout Freedive Basic Course for beginners, Advanced Course/Training for experienced divers — breathing, relaxation, efficient movement and calmer dives for better wildlife encounters. Plus 2 line-training days from shore or boat (or simply rest days).
- Equipment Basic freedive gear included Fins, weight belts, wetsuits and course equipment are available on site. Bringing your own mask is recommended; special sizes should be communicated in advance.
- Media Professional photo & film coverage Ben & Julian film and photograph the whole expedition — underwater housing, drone when conditions allow, and BTS. You get a full edited gallery (~2 weeks after), selected clips, reels, and a YouTube aftermovie (~3–6 weeks after).
- Villa One private villa in La Ventana The whole group stays together near the beach: 3 participant bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, roughly 2 per room. All 9 nights included.
- Transport Transfers & two cars on site Group airport transfers La Paz ↔ La Ventana on 31 May and 9 June, plus two cars with Ben & Emily driving throughout the stay. On boat days: snacks, soft drinks and food by the captain's wife.
